Meet David
David Rolon is the Executive Chef and owner of the D&D Shack. Located in Melrose Park, Illinois. David received his Associates of Applied Science in Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Chicago, formerly known as The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago.
Prior to starting up his own business with the D&D Shack, David was executive chef at numerous iconic restaurants downtown Chicago. Devon Seafood Grill, Harry Caray’s Italian Steak House, Holy Mackerel in Lombard for nearly five years, where he was responsible for managing a team of 25 cooks and banquet staff for the two full-service restaurants and banquet space, as well as Weber Grill Chicago.
Food has always held a special place in David’s heart. Growing up, he was inspired by time spent around the dinner table with friends and family, realizing that food is what brings people together and how memories are made. One of David’s fondest memories is helping his mom in the kitchen the night before Thanksgiving to prepare the turkey and stuffing for their family gathering.
David currently resides in Northlake, Illinois with his wife Nancy and 4 children David, Daisy, Diego, and Dillian. When he is not in the kitchen, David enjoys spending quality time with his family and two dogs, as well as fishing, playing sports and staying on top of the latest culinary trends by dining at various restaurants around the city.
